Meet The Team
Leahland Hill - Owner
Leahland owns and operates Rose City Dogs with his amazing wife Gea. Leahland originally comes from the Event Production industry. Amongst his successful 20-year period of owning and operating events, he had the honor of producing in the Green Technology sector while working closely with then California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s administration, as well as Residential Building, and Senior Health & Wellness.
While fighting his way back from a life changing event that left him partially blind, Leahland and his wife adopted two incredible Chocolate Labrador Retrievers. This family addition became a turning point for Leahland. He knows that he would not be here today without the love of his dogs and he wanted to give back. He soon changed career course as he realized that dog training and canine behavior were passions that he needed to follow. Leahland is currently enrolled at the CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, working towards a Master Class Certification in dog training and behavior.
For the last three years Leahland has owned and operated a small home boarding facility, further deepening his love and knowledge of personalized dog care and solidifying his belief that all dogs need one on one love and attention. This belief is what drove Leahland to create Rose City Dogs “Small Batch Dog Care.”

- All dogs must attend a 45 minute Meet & Greet before attending daycare or staying for overnight boarding. We want to learn about your pup’s play style and personality so that we can match them with the best play partners!
Yes, we have trained staff members onsite, loving and caring for your pup 24 hours a day.
Our facility is staffed by trained dog professionals 24/7 365 days a year. The building features a state-of-the-art security system, and smoke detection systems that alert police and fire departments in the event of an emergency.
Of course. When you come in for your dog’s 45 minute Meet & Greet visit, we will give you a full tour of the building. For pet parents who just want to see what we are all about, we offer in-person tours by appointment only. Please contact us to schedule your visit.
Yes. We can administer any prescribed medication, including injectables.
We pride ourselves on our communication with pet parents. We know from experience that being away from your furry family member can be stressful. All Rose City Dog members have access to our customized App. Our App allows pet parents to not only register, make payments, and check out with ease. It allows them to view real time pictures and videos of their pup throughout their stay. You are also welcome to call or email us for updates. We take these inquiries very seriously and will respond as quickly as possible.
Dogs, like people, are prone to contagious illnesses. Vaccinations can minimize, or, in some cases, eliminate the possibility of transmission of these illnesses and protect your dog as well as the other dogs in our care.
Our Meet & Greet visits are designed to see if the dogs coming into the daycare space are comfortable here and want to be here. We also check to see that their behavior is consistent with fun and safe play with other dogs and people. This process is fully transparent and we encourage you, the pet parent, to be a part of it.
Daycare and boarding at Rose City Dogs is different from anywhere else. We emphasize safe and fun play opportunities for dogs who want to engage socially with other dogs. We will schedule a 45 minute appointment to get to know you and your dog. First, we invite your dog and you the pet parent to be part of the session. We not only want to see how your dog does with other dogs, we want you to be able to see what it’s going to be like for your dog during their time here. We start by asking a few questions about how your dog does with other dogs and people. Then we slowly introduce them to a variety of other dogs. We want to take the time to understand your dog well — how they play, what sensitivities they might have, and how they might respond to the play space. Once the visit is complete, we will share our observations with you and proceed accordingly.
We do not view the Meet & Greet as a pass or fail scenario. We understand that being in a new environment can be stressful for some dogs. If for some reason your dog is not yet comfortable around other dogs in our daycare/boarding setting, we can work with you both to help get them ready for daycare and make recommendations for activities and/or training services that address their specific needs.
